For the exhibition project on several locations throughout the small city of Kortrijk, Belgium, I went with Nadia Naveau to inventorise spaces and locations for a new installation. The project 'Paradise Lost Paradise' is based on the works of painter Roelandt Savery (1576 - 1639), who lived in Kortrijk, Prague and Utrecht. This was the first time I've ever been to Kortrijk. It's a lovely town (very tidy), with a relatively huge amount of churches, chapels and alcoves.

Artists in the exhibition are Melanie Bonajo (NL), Stephan Balleux (B), HonorĂ© D’o (B), Joseph Marzolla (IJsland), Barbara Amalie Skovmand Thomsen (DK), Nadia Naveau (B), Nathalie Vanheule (B), Bernd Trasberger (D), Alexandra Crouwers (NL), Frederik Heyman (B), Janneke Raaphorst (NL). From july 2nd - august 28th. I'll probably be doing something in one of the so-called 'Broeltorens', see image below. Also an older animation, 'The 30.000 Miles Graveyard' from 2005, will be shown at the Broelmuseum as it features a Dodo. Savery is, amongst other things, known for his paintings of Dodos.

Below, some of the photos I took while wandering around Kortrijk. This kind of imagery makes me wish I was religious.
